Sorry Mike but this film was banal and pointless beyond belief, no redeeming features and quite a lot of unintentional comedy, amateurish, cheesy expository dialogue and pointless filler secondary characters. As you already said, it was like a thoroughly forgettable TV show and you can only imagine the bored,, obligated 'another day another dollar' attitude that that the otherwise decent leads must have had while making it. My main thought was, this wouldn't even have cut it in 1998, especially as half the SFX looked 20 years old too.
@21:27 Mr. Aberdine Bumbledorf looks like the YouTuber Lionel on the channel Lionel Nation. Go on that channel and watch 5 seconds of video, then look at the picture at 21:27 and tell me I'm wrong lol.
I’ve lost a lot of respect for these guys. They (rightly) tip Adam Sandler films, but they rip awesome films like Captain Marvel and Avengers Endgame. Yet they like Dark Phoenix, which was one of the crappiest films out there?I’m officially done with them. I’m never watching another of their videos and I’m taking them off my follow list. You officially lost a big fan you two. Buzz off!
I think Jean Grey tapped into the Phoenix cosmic power in Apocalypse, in Dark Phoenix they clearly say it came to Earth to look for her ( this may slightly fall in line with the comics)
Did anyone notice that Quiksilver is in the beginning of the film and then completely disappears for the rest of it, only to pop up at the end in the mansion saying hi to younger kids?
31:13 can't let that pun get away
I watched both of these movies tonite. Xmen first and then Godzilla. Xmen was pretty bad but I at least was somewhat interested in watching. The godzilla movie was laughable TERRIBLE. I literally couldn't STAND sitting through it and stopped actually watching 30 minutes in. I just skipped to the monster fights and still didn't care at all. I can't believe they make movies like this. Why???
When Mike mentioned the Gambit rumors, I felt so sad those rumors didn't go anywhere. The Origin Xmen movies idea sounded so awesome, yeah I know the Xmen Origins Wolverine sucked just because Deadpool was poorly written, But if Deadpool wasn't shoehorned in the story or was written differently, it could've been better.
More people have watched this video than The movie itself.
There is no cohesive timeline here. It’s just all a mess.
Godzilla KOM was just so boring and generic, and Phoenix felt like a bad D.C. Tv Show
"That Guy" also known as the "Verizon Commercial Guy"
Watanabe says gojira not godzilla
If that Godzilla movie wasnt excessive I dunno what is. The monster turned into a cat6 hurricane and godzilla becomes a lava monster thing that oh fuck this what am I doing with my life
Shin Godzilla ganbatte
I'm just mad that Pee Wee Herman didn't ride his bike in the middle of the final Godzilla battle!
15:12 I want to say the snap-zoom in Star Wars took me right out of the movie when I first saw it in the theater!
"Godzilla was not made by Americans"Who dropped the bombs?
What’s with that weird cut at :29 seconds?
Literally marvel ripped off Godzilla with a cinematic universe. He has three.
Yeah, Shin Godzilla is pretty much in my top 5 movie list...
Pikachu almost gets killed by a pebble in Detective Pikachu, Millie Bobbie Brown gets hit by a massive chunk of debris in King of the Monsters and just keeps running.
Dark Phoenix saga was one of the most moving episodes of the comics and became the most uninvolving story in the X-men movies not once but twice
Godzilla and Mothra are the best kaijus going
Babylon 5 was the first series to use the "snap zoom"...
I don't know if this has ever been brought up, but Godzilla shows up in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.
King of the Monsters was boring as fuck, no matter how much CGI they threw at the screen.
Godzilla: King of Monsters was easily the worst movie I have seen in a decade. Utter cookie-cutter nonsense. I had fun with Pacific Rim, but with this movie I was begging for it to be over after 20 minutes.
I agree. It was the cheesiest and shittiest movie I've seen in the longest time I can remember. I honestly cannot believe they made it the way they did. I can't even explain what is bad about it....it just is complete nonsense.
It went on way to long. I was just wondering why the effects of massive radiation exposure wasnt killing off the human cast.
7:52 is that an impression of Godzilla or a blue hair feminist?
I thought Kong Skull island was much better.
