Oh for God's sakes can't you get the message from elected officials; The next time they cry out that they need people for disaster the truth is you're on your own unless you want to make a full-time career of begging for handouts.
Now everybody get out of my way cuz I got to buy more stocks in pharmacy companies that rape the American public.
Maybe I'll send Congress a little bit of money thanking them for this sweet deal.

this guy is absolutely corrected, Congress should be answering to the people and why are they bring up 9/11 which happens almost decade ago

Just wondering----congress authorized $4.3 billion to cover first responders and extended it to cover them thru 2090,so what happened? Did they use up the money? $4 billion dollars for medical bills? Wow.......

This was a NINE MINUTE speech.

God bless our 9/11 first responders. Never forget isn't enough, never abandon them.

Congress' weak response is, "Well, we have a $22 trillion debt to pay off." Okay. So when is that gonna happen? You and your cronies keep spending more than is brought in and most of that is wasted on military spending on projects that don't even work properly and probably never will. $5 billion is a pretty small drop in that bucket. In addition, if you knew how to manage money properly, there wouldn't be a debt and there would be plenty of extra to fully fund that program. So the whole lot of Congress is committing treason (intentional long-term damage to the future of the U.S.) and they are terrible financial planners. Stop voting your party line and start voting for people who can actually do the job.

Health care is a human right NOT a pillager. "No American should face financial ruin because of a health issue." Thank you Jon.

CBS please always make sure to get a dig in to Republicans...with comment on McConnell at the end. Why I don’t watch the network anymore.

Janno_O well said. I thought about that when I made the statement.

Yet you did this time. Also the fact you got mad because the network digged towards a party rather than being mad the those first responders were neglected for so long says a lot about you.

I think it's laudable that Jon Stewart has chosen this as a cause to champion. I also fully acknowledge the bravery, courageous effort and price paid by the 9/11 1st responders. They worked tirelessly to save lives and recover the bodies of loved ones. But there are firefighters, policeman and military all around the country fighting/recusing people from wildfires, earthquakes, natural disasters/floods and in war zones around the world. They show equal courage and bravery; they and their families have suffered similar and/or worse effects. What makes the 9/11 responders more deserving? Is it because 9/11was so unexpected and unprecedented in scale or perpetrated by a foriegn enemy? Is it because of the of number of deaths or because it was on domestic soil? Virtually all firefighters and police have strong unions and are covered by generours healtcare benefits, disability,/life/worker's comp insurance, also Live and family assistance programs. Available because they've chosen an occupation with risks, yet it seems it'snot enough. However other responders and edpecually returning soldiers with lost limbs and/or PSTD don't have nearly as much or access to that quality of support. They have the VA, long wait times and "thanks for your service".

Meanwhile members of congress can go anywhere in the world for medical care.🤦🏿‍♂️

Stewart does have a lot to feel guilty about 9/11, genetically speaking, but he's still deflecting.

Awww, why the tantrum? Celebrities think they deserve a standing room only audience? This fund has been abused and misappropriated, that's why Congress is doing its due diligence in examining it before reauthorization.

@Linda Minton Trump is not saying a dam thing but when it come to his wall he throw is toddler temper tantrum at Democrat Congress.

@UCyJP-RT-fH2ZD4SS_d3QiOw All American presidents that were honored with a state dinner with the Queen brought their adult children, you don't bring children to such an affair. The cost to taxpayers for the president's family to be able to join him at such an important occasion is such a small price to pay for everything President Trump has done for the country.

@Linda Minton ....All four adult kids on tax payers expense to Buckingham Palace, only one = President Donald Trump. Period!

@Derek Which President didn't take his children to a state dinner in his honor hosted by the Queen of England?
