Omg.. if a guy molested a kid.. idk do not let them out of prison.. problem solved.

Forcing a person to take meds after a term is served. Would the same be said to a person in a mental hospital... would you draw blood samples every month.. and if not on meds they go straight back?

Once the time is served maybe the duration of parole.

That would be like hey your on disability for PTSD.. take these meds or we do not pay you anymore..

Easy fix.. just do not let them out.

the problem with extreme laws and punishments is, people often get wrongfully accused and punish only to later be proven innocent. also corruption can twist laws and punishments to be used for other evil proposes and to abuse people. even tho some may deserve this and worse, but you don't fight evil with evil or you become evil then whats the point.

In regard to CHcemical Castration, Its pretty much Anti Human rights law, so It kind of cant be even considered law. Basic human rights are applying even retrospectively, which means this law is and always will be invalid. For more references, look at Case, where SLovakia castrated Gipsy woman, dunno how its called now ...

I don't agree with chemical castration, it's indeed too cruel. I say this as a former child victim, I was 4 years old.

My media landscape is filled by 80% of Trump and US politics. I'm from Finland.. I do follow it but the amount is just so massive that just youtube autoplay algo alone serves me at least 4 hours of US politics, everyday.

The chemical castration thing doesn't sound right. While I personally am very much "eye for an eye" in terms of how I feel about things emotionally, I think if there is no hope for rehabilitation (which if you're permanently mutilating someone, seems to be true) then you should just go for death penalty and end things there.

Again, I can understand eye for an eye mentality (and I think years of pain and humiliation would be fitting) but I also know that allowing vengeance to be a driving factor of justice isn't a good idea.

"Chemical castration is designed both to shackle the mind and cripple the body of sex offenders, it is doubly cruel and should be struck down as a violation of the Eigth amendment." So kind of like what offenders do to their victims? I'd say it's a fitting punishment for someone who would shackle the mind and cripple the body of a child for the rest of the child's life.

That being said, there are many things that can go wrong like false accusations and wrongful sentences. If the offender is innocent and put through this process, it would be incredibly inhumane and wrong. How could you possibly take that back or protect the inmate? By freezing and preserving the offender's DNA? That would cost a ton of money, and private prisons especially would take advantage of that or just not do it. And don't suggest providing medical insurance to the wrongfully accused. This is the U.S., not a country that cares about its citizens, much less convicts.

Also, there's the possibility of this punishment being applied to other crimes, or even worse, the possibility of this punishment becoming a tool for abuse against certain demographics. It's no secret that Alabama is a place that is very unsafe for non-caucasian folks. Slowly, overtime, they could ensure that certain demographics' population decrease from sterilization.

my opinion on the castration issue is: OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!! chemically at least :))))

Hi my name is Crispylemon i am 19 years old and work in Asbestos Removal. Asbestos is an organic mineral/fiber also known as the Serpentine rock. Which is The California State Rock. It was used in many types of Insulation decorations, fabrics & so much more. Asbestos was the easiest strongest and cheapest material to obtain at the time. It was mostly used as a fire resistant material, but went on too be used as a decoration. If you live in a house with a popcorn ceiling that is asbestos. Asbestos is safe when it is not distrubed. The moment you mess with it break it or tamper with it. You release the asbestos particles in the air which are smaller than 3 microns in diameter. Thats 1000x smaller than fiber. If you spray it down with water you decrease the amount of asbestos in the air, which sorta helps but its best to wear hazmat suits gloves and hepa filter Masks. You must have an Osha 40 certification like i do to remove and dispose of asbestos so please do not touch it. Asbestos particles can lodge into your lungs and cause scarring and cancer to the lungs called Asbestosis. Once you breathe in asbestos there is no cure. There is NO SAFE amount of asbestos so please be cautious & WEAR A HEPA FILTER MASK. You will not see any side effects of asbestos until 40 years after. Which is terrifying. If youre in need of asbestos removal call a restoration company certified in asbestos removal or contact your city enviornmentalist for assitance. I hope this clears up what Asbestos is and what it does.

Getting punished in this way I say to the pedophiles out there, WHAT DID YOU THINK WAS GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU’RE A PEDOPHILE?!?! It’s easy for the critics against this like John Stinneford to say this when they were NOT the ones molested as a child like I was!!! Cruel and unusual punishment also easy to say when it NEVER happened to you or someone you love PLUS they should be punished in a cruel way since it’s not just a regular crime they RAPED CHILDREN/INFANT, so yes it should be as cruel as possible!!! These “people” aren’t dangerous ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! So you call molesters NOT dangerous, REALLY?!?! In my opinion they deserve SO MUCH WORSE!!! ALSO I agree with Representative Steve Hurst what is more inhuman then molesting children!!! Obviously I know I’m biased but STILL my opinion stands!!!

Sex offenses are about power, not arousal. Chemical castration makes people feel better and gives a false sense of security. I'm against it for this reason. It won't decrease the chance of an offender reoffending. Let them rot behind bars instead.

And why should I care about these people

Yeah, chemical castration definitely comes with a lot of unknowns. Better switch back to surgical. :-P

Love your videos! Very informative as always. I know I will probably get backlash for saying this but I completely agree with the law passing in Alabama. I'm in total agreement with your biased opinion. Sex offenders of children lose their rights to being a human when they molest children! It is a sickness and should be treated as such. When you make the decision to abuse an innocent child or are even attracted to them in a sexual way, that is by far the most darkest twisted disgusting repulsive disturbing sickest crime against humanity that exists. For lack of a better word in the English language for it. I have empathy for most things but NOT for sexual predators. I think this form of punishment is not good enough. I agree and hope we can improve on it and even take it further. This topic infuriates me and I am bias. And I'm going to leave it at that bc I have more cruel, creative, and darker punishments I could think of to punish sexual predators with.

8:40 for all of the yes man out there just remember than some people may be found guilty when they didn't do shit not long ago there was a story about a guy stuck in jail for 40y when he didn't do anything it is also a waste of money and ressource just pop the guy in the head with a bullet it should be less expensive and faster

All in favor of surgical castration for sex offenders who abused children under the age of 13 say aye

is a no-no, might be wrong), and then might be court ordered to allow the rapist visitation. but at least he will be chemically castrated...

I think when it comes to consuming more news on healthcare and education, I want more of it. BUT when I read stories or articles concerning those topics, it’s just depressing. It can get physically hard to watch sometimes with my chest tightening and my back tensing up. So I don’t pay attention to those news stories.

Hello Philly, please do a video about the protest in Hong Kong. The situation is very dire and the police force is almost going to kill people.

I think chemical castration for sex offenders is rediculous. I understand that it feels fair to some, as a vigilante-justice thing to do, but prisons and justice system should be focused on reforming offenders into people who could be introduced back into society, not castrating them. If you know anything about life in prison you know prison sentence is already over the top punishment for most people in there.

You have to keep in mind that this law will castrate everyone who went to prison on false accusations, and as far as sex crimes go -- it is very easy to be innocent and still end up prosecuted due to court biases. While false conviction rate is around ~5% for all crimes, for sex offenders the rate of false convictions is more than double -- at 11,6%. And it's only those we know for sure were false convictions, which is only a portion of all innocent people sitting behind bars.
(Source https://www.prisonlegalnews.org/news/2018/sep/4/study-finds-wrongful-convictions-116-percent-sexual-assault-cases-pre-dna-testing-era/)

Also you gotta keep in mind rates of recidivism for sex crimes:
Recidivism rate is 19 percent for rapists, 7 percent for child molesters, 3 percent for incest offenders, and 3 percent for —hands off offenders.
(Source http://www.wsipp.wa.gov/ReportFile/1161/Wsipp_Adult-Sex-Offender-Recidivism-A-Review-of-Studies_Full-Report.pdf)
So in reality 93% of people you will be castrating with this law shouldn't really be castrated even before accounting for innocent people who got falsely convicted.

the Alabama law sounds like clockwork orange 🍊

I think making them pay for their own treatment is unfair. Nobody is gonna hire them because they are sex offenders so they'll get parole but will be right back in jail when they can't afford the pills anymore. Just cut off the nuts and be done with it. Fuck the longterm chemical thing. That's just a waste of time and money. Cut them off. Nasty ass doesn't need em.

I follow Vox and Aljezeera. I watch very few of their videos despite feeling like I want to be more up to date on world news. I even tune out a little in the section of your show about world news. I'm not proud of that, but yeah, there is a difference between what you'd like to be interested in as a person, and what you actually pay attention to.
