Mandy Moore and sharks! With the sequel upon us, we decided to go looking for sins in 47 Meters Down. And boy did we find some.

Thursday: Not super old but not new animated sins.

Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

I just asked my mom if the main character's ended up in a cage, well she said no 😐 I thought this was 47 meters down uncaged, wait........hold up just a minute, I just realized the other movie I mentioned had Uncaged in it lol

They changed the ending, it was once one of the girls dying and the other hallucinating that they were saved but they changed it to her still hallucinating but the coast guard then came.

When you next sin yourselves add a sin for saying that the Space Shuttle was used on the Apollo missions.

I’ve been scuba diving once and I know more about diving than the writer and director of this movie

The guy reading the commentary is annoying as hell!

Did I mention only 3 types of sharks eat humans or kill them. If a shark attacks they are most likely curious or confused so they mighta accidentally attack but if you don’t bother them they won’t bother you so don’t freak out and take small breaths

Besides the other contrivances, you’re gonna tell me the at least somewhat experienced shark cage adventure operators are gonna tell the women to stay down in the ocean because they’ll get the Bends if they swim back up? They’d actually have less of a chance of getting decompression sickness if they had been told to swim for it soon as the cage came to rest, and even at the depth they were at they would most likely have mild symptoms. You’re also gonna tell me the city doesn’t have a hospital that would definitely have a decompression chamber to help?

Lmao goddamn dude you're just stupid it's not even funny at this point

First, sharks don’t hunt that deep.
Second, they usually don’t hunt targets such as them.
Third, sharks aren’t aggressive enough to attack a cage without provoking.
Fourth, fuck it, it’s Hollywood.

We’ve been scammed it says 12 minutes or less
It’s 12 minutes and six seconds

The bends do not exist in that universe.

@7:43 - Nothing in the movie makes this happen other than "they're in Mexico and standards are low" - which is Mexico-ist: DING!

I am not an actual scuba diver and the level of stupidity in 47 Meters Down is still offensive. I grew up a Navy brat of a submarine sailor and my ex husband was also a sub-sailor. I was educated about the effects of water pressure during a deep sea descend on a billion dollar nuclear submarine. Even some other movies can give you a clue. They throw facts in with the fiction. The Abyss (1989). When at the end of the movie the wife said that they should all be dead because they didn't decompress before the aliens brought them to the surface after being a lot lower than 47 meters. Then Sphere(1998) The three survivors at the end had to sit in a decompression chamber several hours while they got their story together about what happened to the rest of the crew. This movie is not sci-fi about being in danger from a new unnaturally aggressive species of sharks. It could be a real life story. Neither sister asked the right questions about safety. Its really as simple as having lifeboats in good condition on a cruise ship. I guess that's why it takes place in Mexico and the the U.S.. As if one could not get away with such a shady operation in the U.S.. The boat crew would have been in all kinds of trouble. They were probably operating without proper permits and licences, and with faulty equipment. Perhaps that was the point of the movie. How things can go all kinds of wrong if one is not prepared for the unexpected in advance.
