You know a horror movie is good if it makes you cry. Truly traumatizing. Great work.

the scariest truth of this interview is that someone buys a coffee that small.

But for real, best horror movie made in a very very long time....

Fantastic interview ! Great job on the host !!

He got it right with the "2nd screaming" Freudian slip on Midsommar

God of American Horror has spoken.
I will be even more exciting if Aster has the power to turn any pop culture into masterpieces (like Nolan to Batman)

Can’t shake my feeling of panic off from that movie

Please keep making horror.

You don’t know where the idea for the movie came from ? The movie has people sacrificing bodies for a king demon of hell that wants to transfer bodies like krang from ninja turtles - shredder where is my body ? The movie is a flat out Satanic plot to allow an Antichrist spirit transfer from a female to male body . Oh gee yes the plot just came to me , yea right . It was an amazing movie , made for worshiping the dark lord of this world . But let’s not act like the plot was simply irrelevant- you love satan , just admit it .

Paimon is not the same thing as Satan and Satan is not the same as the Antichrist. You sound dumb

Lol what

satan is cooler than god, satan smokes

Ari must be tired of people asking if he’s ok all the time

I haven’t been so disturbed at the movies as I was watching Hereditary. Doesn’t go for cheap jump scares and predictable setup, it’s genuinely unsettling and gets the heart going lol midsommar did the same for me

Yeah because he thinks he can be the next Aronofsky but we know what we saw with MOTHER!!!

The way he does imagery is amazing. Such an amazing eye.

Oh, it’s so gratifying to hear him describe Millie’s participation in the project. She’s an adorable teenager who has had a career for nearly a decade already banking on the fact that she’s an adorable (and talented) kid. I love the fact (and it makes perfect sense) that she would relish the chance to be as creepy as humanly possible. And boy does she succeed.

Sure the movie is dark and horrifying, but she’s a professional and she’s a smart young lady, she knows full well that it’s make-believe (for all intents and purposes).

Ari Aster and Jordan Peele have arrived at a very interesting time in the horror genre. For the last decade, a vast majority of mainstream American horror films have been "family-moves-into-haunted-house". Both of these directors have offered fresh ideas and unsurprisingly people have gravitated towards that. These directors will be very important people in 20 years time when we look back.

Saw Midsommar yesterday.... im going to go and see it again

This is a stupid attempt to misrepresent nordic cultures of light. What's the bigger agenda of the creator?

1:03 Ari: "Then there's the obligatory hustling."
Me: "Oh sweet he's going to talk about how he got it produced."
Interviewer: "So how do find watching people in theatres reacting to this film."
Me: "Goddamit 😑"

God only knows what happens in that mans mind when he is completely alone

there is NO single person in horror that gives me as much hope in the genre as ari.
hereditary was phenomenal.
can’t wait for midsommar & all future projects.

Ari Aster: It's not a film that capitalizes on excessive gore...
What about the last act?

@Ghost Actually, I don't mind gore. But this film went left field. A misguided purpose in my opinion. The witchcraft subplot really was unecessary and frankly inconceivable.

Kay Patino I mean there wasn’t THAT much, and I don’t think it was gratuitous. The blood definitely had a purpose.

Bring on MIDSOMMAR!!!

Might be the best horror movie I have ever seen.
