I'm a bit disappointed that you only showed the early game of Hack 'n' Slash. 'cause the late game is wild, where you literally break open the actual code of the game objects, and jigger around some values to get it to do what you want.

He kinda looks like Jay Exci

should've rated hacking games like hacknet or duskers

Seriously?
* No Uplink? (games)
* No Hacknet?
* No watchdogs?

You really didn’t do fallout?

Dangit, I thought you'd show him examples of hackers in multiplayer..

Well, this didn't get anywhere. That guy isn't even that interesting

The first one from Ass Creed Black Flag was actually in the realm of CS, but not hacking so much.... it looked to me like a creative rendition of building a Fourier transform. Fourier transforms take a bunch of simple curves, sine waves typically, and add them together in order to reproduce a much more complicated high-frequency signal curve. This is used in images (JPEGs, PNGs, etc), video, audio, etc for data compression. No one builds the curves manually, of course, but that seemed to be what they were getting at.

I’m surprised you didn’t make him play Welcome to the Game

I'd like to point out that the Mass Effect minigame he played was a circuit bypass game, the hacking minigame involves matching code segments. Not saying it's necessarily more accurate, but it is at least hacking, and not the electrician minigame.

The joke's on whoever wants to find my pin by finding my fingerprints, because I have a 15 digit pin!

And now do stuff that at least looks kiiiindy like hacking. Like Uplink: Trust is a weakness, or Hacker Evolution.

Disappointed to see Hacknet not mentioned in the list

A "legitimate cyber security expert" who has nothing better to do than make a video for Polygon. 1 Swordfish.

No watch dogs 2?

I was hoping to see Quadrilateral Cowboy

Whoa, I watch this guy's content every week- got super surprised for a minute at which channel I was watching!

What do you call a bad hacker?

A hack fraud.

Should have shown him HackNet lol

The internet is less a "series of tubes" and more of a "highly interconnected system of 1-lane, 2-way highways." However, I understand the confusion most people have on the subject.

4 months ago

Why didn't you show him Grey Hack? It's literally one of the most faithful to realistic hacking games on the market

4 months ago

I can’t believe they didn’t touch upon Nier: Automata

4 months ago

I was here for Hacknet, disappointed that it wasn't in here

Keep your rock password protected, guys.

So you all talk about video game hacking but don't include Watch Dogs?
