I just want to remind everyone that I’m not saying I really have a problem or that if you do this you do too - it’s why I said everyone has a “quirk”. I want to emphasize that it becomes a problem/major disorder when it’s DESTRUCTIVE in your life in a way that it unpairs daily activity. It’s awesome to see so many people relate or share their own stories and I just wanted to shed some light that some things we take for granted or don’t think twice on aren’t always the same for everyone. Thanks for watching and the support :)

I had a lot of problems with it in middle school. Switching lights on and off, I couldn't close letters like o and e, I couldn't put pencils downward into a pencil pouch or something, tapping cups on the counter, pushing things in tight spaces like when packing a suitcase, etc. And if I didnt do any of these things then my mind had its ways of convincing me that something horrible would happen to somebody I care about that I would have no control over it. I'm in college now and I still have some of the thoughts but they dont control me anymore...most of the time lol

I have OCD as well. Also I dont count my steps but I don't ever step on a crack and when I drive I count how many times I stop at a stop light I count how long I'm there and how many I stop at.

What you're describing sounds to me more like adhd. Adhd can share those weird likings for patterns but it isn't an issue, just something we like doing. Adhd is also way more common

I count my steps all the time too man! It helps me memorize my surroundings and be able to find my way around in the dark.

Dude. You're just a drummer ;)

I also count except I just count from one to wherever I stop another thing that I have to do is whenever I turn to any direction like for example if I turn to the right halfway I have to turn to the left otherwise I feel wierd

HOLY BEJESUS I DO THE EXACT SAME THING. Only for me, it's groups of 5 or 15. I don't even notice it half the time now, and I really didn't realize until recently that it wasn't normal. I only recently developed it, as a year ago I didn't do this, and it's kinda wack when I think about it

Holy shiznitts I have O.C.D too😐

I'm the exact same, but with 3

I make music, play games and that helps me with certain tendencies being on the spectrum
Or commonly known as autistic with savant syndrome

I’ve always done the counting and muscle tick/twitch thing but I never knew it could be related to OCD. I feel like this video gave me some insight into myself in some way. I now feel tempted to talk to someone about it because I’ve always thought it was something that everyone did kind of like you were saying. I honestly just had my mind blown a little.

I guess I might have ocd...

Things have to be the same/symmetrical for me. The amount of food on each side of my mouth, the amount of steps in each square(there can be halfs), the amount of times I crack each knuckle, etc.
