I hope you found this video interesting! If you're looking for more Wendover Productions content, we recently started a podcast called Extremities. It's all about the world's most isolated places with the first season focusing on Pitcairn--the tiny British Overseas Territory in the South Pacific with a population of 50. You can listen to that on any major podcasting app or all the links are here: http://ExtremitiesPodcast.com

Do a video about HAARP and weather modification as well. It appears you are really interested in the weather and weather modification is 100 percent proven. Ever heard of seeding clouds for rain? That's just the start.

Suez would like a word.

I’m only now realising that Wendover’s logo looks like the Nord VPN one.

It was Colombia at the time it was envisioned. Panama was a bloodless coup, when Colombia was uncooperative

If we bring back manufacturing to the U.S....

K so I've always been told that ships going east go west through the canal and ships going east go West (or North and South, whatever it is) and to this day that still logically doesn't make sense to me. Someone explain

Competitive canal... I just learned something new today.

Impressive. But I'm not so sure it could handle my 18' center console. haha

Those locks, man. Sometimes I have to stand in just awestruck amazement at American ingenuity, creativity, and know-how.

If you ever own up to having balls and real intelligence. I will be willing to bet any amount of money and my American citizenship that you have absolutely no clue about this.
#trump, I'll bet money serious money you wont and you have no business sense either.

Hope trains win, hope the Caribbean wind as well.

0:26 isnt the suez canal more influencal?

I think you did a good job of explaining why the Panama Canal is more important then the Suez Canal because the size of the locks determines the size that ships, ports and bridges around the world need to be and weather to ship by train or bySuez instead. As a Canadian, I think we should invest in a nuclear poweed ice breaker like Russia has to open the North West passage as an even more direct route from Asia to Europe and the North American east coast then the Suez or Panama canals

What would happen if the locks were just completely opened and both sides returned to sea level?

Suez Canal; "am i a fucking joke to you!!"

Oh hi, i didnt expect to see river street on here 😂 8:22

what if we dig Panama Canal to sea level?

This is pretty cool, I actually live in Bayonne and for the longest the bridge transformation was all everyone talked about. I knew it was to accommodate bigger ships, but I never knew this was directly because of the Panama Canal.

You talk way too fast dude

How it works:
1. Have money
2. Make Inbox Company
3. ??? (icij.org)
4. Profit

Really like that you also use the metric system so non Americans can understand your videos.

Suez Canal: allow me to introduce myself

Please do a video on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in México. There are talks of making a transportation corridor that will compete with the Panama Canal. They say it will cut the time of transporting goods by nine days. It would be interesring to see the logistics of this operation. Seems up your alley. What do you think?

Shouldn't Panama be filthy Rich?

Maybe a drought in Panama could be a "good thing."
We tell rich people "Hey, climate change is causing big prob-" "Not real. Climate change is not real. Everything is fine."
So instead if we can tell them "Hey, you're gonna lose money. You like money right? Well... the uhm... changes in the uhh... big weather are making water in Panama go bye bye. Less trade. Less monies." "WHAT!?"
"Climate change is affecting your money now asshole! No Panama canal, no trade, no products, no money. If you want to keep making money, help save earth!" "WE MUST ACT NOW! CLIMATE CHANGE IS A HUGE PROBLEM THAT MUST BE DEALT WITH!"
"ugggh... greedy assholes."
