Ryan Clark joins Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman and Will Cain on First Take and explains why he's ignored some of the things said by Oakland Raiders WR Antonio Brown. Clark adds that we would have preferred him and Brown having a physical altercation in private and not opening up their dispute to the public.

I like Ryan Clark he one of the best on ESPN being a former player. He tells it like it is. 👍👍👍

Stephan A Smith needs to understand that athletes be getting on guys like him because he criticises African American athletes and just African Americans in general more then any other race especially white people. He's been doing that for years that's why people like myself stop watching him

SERIOUSLY?? Man, ya'll some chicks, with this female drama.

Player empowerment in sports is great but AB is destroying the good done by other players like Anthony Davis Paul George who are exercising there rights and setting a great precedent which is being shitted on by dumb analysts because AB makes empowerment look dumb. This is embarrassing

Sas it's that mindset that keeps the hate n racsim going trying to separate ppl based on race your fuckin stupid ya 2 perticular individuals who happen to be the same race ya there prob is certain things and understandings but when those things are related towards hate that's were you fucked up.

I remember when ESPN first started. Now it has become the tmz of the sports world. I'll take Berman over Stephen A Smith any day.

@David Robinson It's all good! I think you raise some good points! Jim Rome...couldn't stand that guy, douche bag! I loved it where Jim Everett flip the table on Rome talking shit and he was going to put him to sleep.

@Mr.Woo Woo I preface this by saying I respect your initial comment and meant to malice or disrespect.

I had written a rather lengthy response, but lost it. I gave the reasons my initial response wasn't a racially driven response, per se, but moreso to explain the differences in the highlight callers, analysts, and those who were at ESPN that shared the same type of polarizing "talking head" position as SAS, and that'd be Jim Rome. And Rome would receive the same polarizing response as Smith. I loved Boomer, Tom Jackson, and Stuart Scott, but their respective jobs were different.

@David Robinson Absolutely two different styles. I really just meant from an entertainment aspect. And I think for the longest time you didn't see sports analyst back then...white or black.

And though John Saunders was great at what he did. I much preferred Tom Jackson as a football analyst then Smith could ever be! I'm actually surprised you didn't mention him considering he had a 30 year career doing that. He understood using logic explaining what was going on, unlike Smith. Actually I think Berman and Jackson would rip Smith and Max apart when it comes to being analyst, but the whole thing is just opinions.

But, in the future please remember to mention Tom Jackson when it comes to African American analyst, because he was way better than Smith and he was part of the foundation for other African Americans on ESPN. Smith couldn't hold his jock strap, and that comes from a Raiders fan who can't stand anything Bronco's, lol.

And how did Black and White even become part of this conversation. It had nothing to do with color of skin, and really was just more about coming from an entertainment stand point.

R.I.P Stuart Scott...one of the best ESPN Sportscenter desk people ever!

I remember too, but Chris Berman and Stephen A. Smith have two different roles on ESPN. Historically, ESPN never really had a black analyst that was allowed to give his opinion, except for the late John Saunders, who always did a great job.

Stuart Scott sometimes have an opinion, but his job was more along the lines of Chris Berman than Stephen A.

Stephen A. is a bit extra, but when you have so few that get the platform be a voice of the community, you end up having to take the good AND the bad.

It could be better. It also could be a lot worse (Jason Whitlock).
