I know how much you guys love Dr. Gregory House, so I decided to dig through the comments sections and find out which episode you wanted me to watch. The episode "three stories" kept popping up with a lot of upvotes. I didn't get any background behind the story of the episode and I just sat down and watched it.

Now I didn't know it was going to be such a complicated episode to review as it bounced back and forth between three situations. So to simplify we decided to completely remove one of the three patient simulations as we felt it didn't add much to the story and just made it. more complicated for you to follow.

I wish I knew this was the episode that went on to explain what is wrong with House's leg because then maybe I would've saved it for a later review. But I guess its good for me to know for further episodes anyway.

I will say this about Dr. House. I think he is a kind guy that comes off brash almost on purpose to be a better doctor. You can totally sense throughout the episodes that I've watched that he is still angry for his decision made in this episode.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this episode of Real Doctor Watches House MD / Real Doctor Reacts to House MD . If you want me to continue making this doctor reaction video please give it a like and leave me a comment on which tv drama or show you'd like for me to review next. Love you all!

Obviously you haven't watched house " Mr Doctor" he's a diagnostic specialist! He had a team ,they weren't residents

9:38 Pretty sure it is not because of the range but rather the degree of host specificity that makes human bites a bigger problem for humans. Any MD's got specifics on this.

Opioid Induced Hyperalgesia has never been confirmed in humans, only in lab rats. The amount of opioids necessary to induce hyperalgesia in a human is absurdly large & no doctor prescribes at that level. Dr Forrest Tennant, who was for decades the nation's foremost Pain Management expert found that in suspected cases all that need be done is switch the patient to Methadone for a short time & then they could be put back on their regular opioid therapy without issue.

MORE HOUSE PLEASE WATCH THE SEASON SIX FINALE. A patient is trapped under rubble and may need to have her leg amputated. House tries to help her make a decision based on his own leg issues.

House MD Season 5 Episode 5
"Lucky Thirteen"
Insightful, yet heartbreaking.

There's an episode in which House refers to his previous decision of not amputating his leg. It's called "Help me". S6 ep21.

I've been on high doses of opiates since I was 19 years old. I am now 24, with CRPS and now they think RRMS as well too... I am now off my morphine (my choice), but went back up on my oxy since morphine doesn't work that well with me.

I really enjoyed House. But I did wonder about the technobabble factor.

Regarding dog bites, I have personal experience with this. It's a "three strikes and you're out" kind of deal. A chronic biter has a record, and if they bite humans and even other pets consistently and maliciously, they are put down. But nowadays the authorities in charge of these records take everything into consideration, such as whether or not the dog bit someone in self defense, etc. All bites from that dog go on record no matter the situation, though.

Re narcotics, sure. But your patient's lower back pain is a lot different than House's chronic pain.(In fact, we know that lower back pain is the least indicative for opioid therapy, and that PT and gym tend to have the long-term best results. No amount of gym will help House's FUBAR'd nerves.) It's definitely one of the biggest issues when we even try to talk chronic pain–there is no such one condition. When we treat it like one thing, like persistent lower back pain is the same as complex regional pain syndrome is the same as arthritis is the same as ME/CFS and so on, we do nothing but harm patients. 🤷🏼‍♀️(And I'd argue House, the show, absolutely has contributed to some of the stigma in how pain patients are treated, because they could never decide if he was a legit pain patient, a faking addict, or somewhere between the two, and changed his behavior based on the needs of the script rather than consistent characterization.)

(As for the ethics committee, I've run this case for fun with multiple committees, and not one has agreed that he was incompetent and someone else should make the decisions for him.)

As I understand from an early interview with the creator of "House" that he took weird diseases and wrote the episodes around them.
