I liked this movie. I really did. But it's rewatch value is so low I can describe it. Watch it have a good time then forget it. Nothing memorable at all.

"Being honestly traumatized by something but enjoying the experience." Yes. My new bio.

Ngl, I was bored with this movie. I was on board for the first 30-45 minutes. They didn't give me enough to care about. I ended up waiting for the big money shots planted through the movie or the big scares. Most of those were great and fun. Everything else between kinda just fell flat for me. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents. Just how it hit me ✌

Being a fan of the books as a kid from the 80's, I was hoping for a faithful rendition of the stories, instead what I got was a really lame backstory about an albino girl who is an abused recluse told by an irritating redhead who never seems to shut up. The stories they used were completely rewritten to an awful effect, especially Harold, WTF what the hell was Gorilla Del Boaro thinking, obviously not of the impact of the original stories. Its one thing to try and be 'original' but changing every story to fit around such a poorly written script is very unoriginal.

Obviously made a last minute purchase on Amazon to get that recent copy of the book in the background.

Many directors, producers, writers fail to understand the ingredients that make something memorable/nostalgic emotional. I would say, as perhaps a biiger fan than anyone I know of these books, that the phrase SLIGHTLY WRONG was spot on.

A) SLIGHTLY WRONG
B) ATMOSPHERE (steamy, foggy)
C) VISUAL TEXTURE (cross hatching, melting,)

F the story (which was stupid anyway in this case) if you don't have theses fence posts.

Never felt like I’ve wasted time watching a movie as much as this one. Gave it about a half hour to 45 minutes and it never picked up. Despite I knew it could only get better I had no problem shutting it off knowing it could still take another 15-20 minutes. I can’t imagine a lot of people actually still had interest at that point.

This movie is basically what happens when you take a beloved children's book and shit all over it.
I loved these books as a little kid this movie doesn't do these books justice

Me and my friends in elementary school were horrified but also laughing hysterically and it also kind of ruined our lives because they were so hunting

Just watched it last night and I liked it for what it was. Since I knew the books were geared towards young adults I knew the movie would be the same. I hope there will be a part 2.

Actually really enjoyed this film. Mostly the monster designs and how they were handled.

If comments are more related to a t-shirt, trust me, this movie is not worth your hard earned penny.

I'm late to the party. I just watched it but the red room wasn't shoehorned in. He saw a red room with pale lady in it when he first went in the house at the beginning

I’m 13. Just watched this with my bff, no adults. Fight me. But, I’ve seen some scary movies and even brutal stuff that’s real videos. Not too creepy but I did find myself caring about the characters that made it farther into the movie and I think the special effects and makeup were great. The movie was able to make me feel a bit uncomfortable at times but not too scary since it’s a movie. I give it 7.5/10.
