Nah I don't think anything else really does enough for his legacy for the risk. It's not just being 3 division champion, its coming back & defeating a monster from a new weight class in a new generation who's undefeated & actually undisputed. the only 2 guys who wanna fight Khabib are Conor & Tony. If George did that it would be super hard to argue even Anderson Silva or Jon Jones against him regardless if you're a fighter, avid fan, or just a casual fan, he would leave a huge gap between himself & #2. Coming back & reclaiming welter weight sure it would be dope but it wouldn't add enough for the risk of it. Because right now GSP is like a legend who died in his prime; where you never saw the fall off so they're only great, like Biggie or Tupac. Only better yet he didn't die, he aged and still came back and proved to be the best. If you're the champ right now you can say you're the best in the world but you never really know because you cant say GSP is washed up, he leaves as the greatest. to risk that would have to be for something super special and once in a life time.

I'm surprised you have this outlook considering you spent your entire career poking, prodding and talking shit to get yourself into the most financially lucrative fights once you had the star power to do so. Now you want GSP at 170 while saying KN would be nice but 170 is where he should be. Why would he do that? He circled the clearing beating all of the best in two weight classes (astrix on Johnny Hendrix), went away, came back, circled the clearing, beat the best and again disappeared into the forest waiting for another champion to beat. This time it is KN and that is the fight he wants, why would he go back to 170 and risk injury against opponents that are going to do nothing for his legacy? He could come back and pad his numbers, but instead he wants the best because that shows he is still the best. The old aging lion that has mauled his victims and dragged their unconscious bodies into the jungle never to be seen again is once again wanting to test his metal against the strongest, baddest young lion around... this time it's an eagle... but that is the fight he should get. You used your mouth and ability to get you the best pay days you could get while you could get it, why shouldn't GSP, the OG of p4p best fighters, the man who has faced a murders row of fighters like Fitch, Sherk, Hughes, Serra, Penn, Alvez, and Diaz over the course of 13 years. Why would you advocate for him to fight anyone but the best? I know why the UFC and Dana White don't want it, they know it would be a division killer should GSP win, which he would more than likely do unless he is physically compromised. KN only has a boxers chance and that is not good when you are faced with the most complete fighter to have ever fought in the UFC and not for nothing, but he spent his entire MMA career in the UFC, unlike others that fought in the minors before getting a shot at the pro's .... Ahem. So don't be a Dana shill, stop trying to make a case for GSP at 170 beating up lesser opponents when you know you would have done the same thing if you had the star power and ability to do so.

The only person who’d be given the opportunity to even be an actual champ champ champ is Conor McGregor, Dana would let him fight for the title in Featherweight, lightweight and Welterweight

Hypothetically -
If Khabib beats GSP...

Is it fair to then ask?...
"Well, he beat a 40'ish GSP, not a prime GSP"

If GSP were to beat Khabib, then he truly is the unquestioned GOAT!, no?

GSP is not regular and if he beats regular star ...UFC looses many PPV
Already they lost Ronda , Lesnar ,Silva nd at some extent Conor n Jones...
So they won't do
GSP vs khabib

Am i the only one that finds this fight to be a lose lose? Lets say Khabib wins, convincingly or not, doesnt really matter. In my opinion, GSP is the GOAT and is certainly one of the most well known fighters, so for him to lose to Khabib would heavily damage his reputation of being one of, if not the best in the sport. So if GSP loses, it doesnt end well for him. For Khabib, it doesnt end well either, for him to beat GSP, who is 38 years old and hasnt fought in pretty much 2 years, and is very close to retirement (I know there are fighters like Yoel who are 40+ years old and still fighting like theyre in their 20s and 30s but i think theyre exceptions). Same the other way around. For Khabib to lose to GSP would also affect his career. It would show that Khabib cannot fight against anyone as well rounded as GSP, and isnt to the standard of the GOAT, so for him to be compared to the likes of GSP will not be as well argued as it is now. So, in my opinion, GSP should never fight Khabib, as the loser has their reputation damaged. Let Khabib dominate the lightweight division and stay undefeated, and let GSP keep his GOAT status. For me, I just dont see who benefits, except for the UFC as no doubt it will be one of, if not the biggest selling fight and will result in massive amounts of money for both fighters, but both Khabib and GSP say its not about money and more about the legacy they leave on the UFC

Gsp vs style bender. That's the fight to make, if he really wants to be GREATEST OF ALL TIME

An inactive 38 years old beating a very dominant, active, younger, more aggressive fighter. GSP must have atleast 2 top level fights before even having a chance against the eagle. Let's be honest with ourselves. You may all desperately searching for someone to beat the champ, but be realistic.

How does chael not remember that GSP has 2 losses not 1? He had a tko loss to Matt Serra and he also lost to Matt Hughes by armbar

LOVE this guy a total truth teller.

Hey Chael. Spearsy here, big big fan. You ALWAYS make me laugh. Thank you! I think GSP vs Khabib is gonna happen. I read recently George is fasting. Now that might not mean anything but the seed has been planted and GSP is one of those individuals who doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone, but himself. I think he wonders more than the fans and The MMA world if he could beat Khabib and I know the more he thinks about it the more he will entertain the idea of making that fight happen. Just my two cents. Not sure if you would agree Chael but he is like you. He is a competitor and a warrior and he will take the fight only to satisfy his own drive and curiosity. Not for the fans or the media. Certainly not for The UFC. He doesn’t owe anyone anything but himself.

Tony fergusson is the type of guy that can kiss his elbow

The Jordan - Lebron analogy was a really bad one! Lebron is not close to what Jordan was or ever will be, Lebron quits on command & has no heart! If anything the NBA got much softer since the 90's.

Leon Edwards needs to market himself better. He's a very good fighter!

GSP has age on him , 5-6 years ago yes ... GSP would beat this guy

That’s a foolish argument because he just came back from being away for 4 years and took the Middleweight Belt by finish. The man is always training and is trained by the best of the best. He has taken out 3 generations of the best fighters in the UFC. He avenged both of his loses with sheer dominance. Randy Couture won the Heavyweight UFC Title in a dominate fashion at the age of 45 years old. GSP isn’t even in his mid 40’s. To say he can’t beat Khabib because of his age?? Now that’s just retarded. I’m not saying he will definitely beat Khabib because there are absolutely NO DEFINITES in MMA Fighting because ANYTHING can happen in a fight. GSP is the biggest threat to Khabib and that’s why Dana won’t let this fight happen.

If GSP won a 3rd weight class, that would be the greatest achievement in mma history

"Kamara"

Dumbest argument ever. Because it’s the future the game has to evolve. There is such a thing as devolve. There are rule changes that can also occur that change the way the game is played, like, it’s objectively clear it was more difficult to score before 2004. Also, the media, which chael is a part of and totally understands this, always hype the next generation as the best, whether warranted or not, because they want to give off the allure the game has evolved and this generation of players and it’s best player are better than the former and their best. ESPN has been pushing this narrative for a decade. Who employees chael again?

Khabib vs GSP is the biggest fight in ufc history in my opinion, not Khabib vs Conor.. Conor is simply not even close to khabib level, no stamina, no strength, no wrestling. Conor has only great movement, timing and deadly left hand. GSP has everything you need to be equal with khabib in cage, it's going to be a really hell of a fight

I need to see another khabib fight!!
