On this episode of 'MINORITY REPORTS,' we met up with Tiago, a white freshman at Morehouse College, an HBCU in Atlanta that counts Martin Luther King, Jr. and Spike Lee as alumni.

We sat down with him to hear why he decided to enroll in the school, asked his peers for their thoughts on having white students on campus, and followed along as he showed us what it’s like to be one of very few non-black students at school.

Blacks ,whites, left, right, night and day . We put so much focus on labeling and dividing ourselves that we forget that we all have the same color bone underneath. We are it we are the last of our kind and nobody will ever understand that.

These videos are really cool, and if you think they cause division, you are doing it yourself, not the videos. Every conversation, interaction, and communication between races brakes these social barriers we have built. Segregation wasn’t that long ago, black people are still angry and rightfully so. Now we segregate ourselves, black and white people, and it is time to move towards unity. (United we stand, divided we fall) America really would be the greatest country in the world if we would come together.

JL J black people have a better chance of getting into college than white people. Minorities first now

I don`t like it ...this guy Tiaga talks about this historical monumental black college like it's a social experiment. He is very aware of racial differences and should know that it's not black people`s responsibility to educate him on non white perspectives and experiences. Furthermore joining Morehouse is the lazy way to interact w/ others people's- meeting w/ non whites in a controlled safe environment as opposed to committing to non-white experience by going out into the real world and helping various causes outside of his comfort zone. It pissed me off when people were calling him "brave" as if he were going into some slum instead of being blessed w/ the wonderful opportunity to learn and grow!!! I hope this nonsense w/ the press coverage about being of caucasian descent in a HBCU does not overshadow and take away from the experiences of the other students at Morehouse😒

aaaand I, a white person agree with the black peoples who feels bad about this

This must have been the most racist thing I've seen this year.

I'm just gonna dislike it, because it was made by vice, i don't like vice

this is a good example of how it feels to be a black person in a white only school.

1:20 is the reason why black people had to sit in a specific area of the bus, and could only go to "coloured place/bathrooms" because white people felt disrespected... he is literally being racist.

The student is respecting the culture of the school and it's community. Hating him when you don't even know the kid or the work he put in then you are part of the problem. Its that simple

The only difference between northern and southern racists, is the fact that southern racists have the balls to say it to your face!

I want to go to see the large black penises.

I completly understand why Teago wants to be there.
But he is refraining a black student to
- be president of that dorm or any other not all black uni dorm and also
- be an example for future black students when Teago is welcoming new candidate students.

It's the same with letting men participate in an all female environment. Men take up to much space in an all female environment and take over leadership positions just because 'they happen to be there'.
Their male presence in an all female environment undermines the female authority.

That's regrettable and should be avoided.

What next Black flight?

Wait... in your country America, they divide colleges and universities by race? ...?
Surely this isn't true. Wtf. lol. What about the whole 'land of the free' bullshit?

Morehouse is a historically black college/university (HBCU) and there are several of them. Historically black colleges and universities were created during a time when black Americans weren't admitted into white universities, due to racism and bigotry. Prospective college students in the U.S. can go wherever they are admitted and many black Americans choose to attend non HBCUs. Nevertheless, HBCU's are pivotal to black American history and I'm happy they are still in existence.
You do realize there are schools in China with all Chinese students, schools in Europe with all white students , schools in India with all Indian students and schools in Latin America with all Latin American students. Why then shouldn't HBCUs continue to exist? As long as they don't discriminate and allow any qualified student who wants to attend admittance, it is not wrong to keep HBCUs alive.

Honestly they just got to let more people in there to keep the doors open and that's just the way it is. it's a historic building, and a historic college and it should be preserved. But preserving a historical building can mean two things really. You either turn it into a museum, or you get more people coming in.

I appreciate that the host asked hard questions to proponents of both sides of the argument. Seemed to stay unbiased which is pretty rad.

Reverse Racism? No.......Normal racism.....YES LMAO they just discriminating against white people because they feel entitled to do so.......They complain that white schools do the exact same to them so that makes them just as bad as the other schools doing it to black people. Hypocrisy in America is absolutely mind boggling. Like y'all can have your space, but call it for what it truly is.

"It's always about the message." Sure! and the pattern wins... what a fuck.

Retribution is not the way. If it offends you deeply that people before you have been disenfranchised and discriminated against, I ask you to man up as the generation that is approaching equality! Don’t take opportunity for reparations or the like.

All I see is a bunch of racist bullshit. Switch the roles real quick "if we had black people come into this school id feel disrespected"

I get it. This white dude wants to keep his white privilege but have a bit of a black experience, that might be a black double header, or maybe a gay rim job. Good for him.

So first things first, I'm from Germany.
Though I am educated in the history of Black people in the USA, I have no experience with how harsh life actually was and still is over there.
Still I have to say that, in my opinion, some of the students that spoke, sounded just as racist and bigotted as the priviliged white people they rightfully despise.
That's why I think, it is great to have tiago there, to show them what it is like in reversed roles and hold a mirror up to them.
I hope that this will change the minds of those Individual, so that they can all fight for true equality and peace

No one bothers Tiago or attempts to harm him.. the same may not be true for black people who are in predominately white spaces. Does the Russian guy (Fedor) who graduated from an HBCU- Hampton University seem bothered to you in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jfW8JDOCZ0. He received a full scholarship for his undergrad and MBA at Hampton University.

One of my frat brothers (in a co-ed frat) is white and I went to a HBCU. He also grew up around a majority of Black people. Another crab brother of mine in band is Mexican. He now teaches music in a Black school, in a Black school system. His band has won awards and traveled the country under his direction. HBCUs offer minority scholarships to non-Black students because they're a minority on that campus. It's actually a pretty smart move: get educated in the books and in the culture. I feel like non-Black people should do this, and go back into the world to teach others and/or help the Black community. I think there's a limit on how many can attend, so there won't be a majority non-Black population at HBCU's. I also feel that we as Black people should be accepted into ivy league schools on a larger scale.
