We throw away technology all the time. Every one or two years, we’ll dispose of our smartphone, and get a newer model. Perhaps every four or five years we’ll get ourselves a new laptop, or a new television, because technology has moved on and we want the latest thing. The same happens to much larger types of technology, including planes, trains, and automobiles. Here are some examples of brilliant technological ideas which have found themselves condemned to the waste bins of history!

The British weren't directly involved...
<<STOPPIT>>
what?
<<IT'S BEEN SAID, WE GET IT - PICK SOMETHING ELSE>>
okay fine, the thing found in the Siberian forest isn't a train, it's a traction engine, most likely used to pump water, not transport gold, and Garrett & Sons were the manufacturers, not the owners.
<<THANKYOU>>
you're welcome

The old victor is a work of art just beautiful

There is still a Victor that's airworthy but they say it isn't because they're lazy.

Yeh Ka Tear In Berg?

Yekaterinburg is Catherine-berg. It’s named after Catherine I, Peter the Great’s wife.

Yekaterinburg is the Russian version of Catherine/Katherine.

Fourth largest city in Russia.

Spend some more time learning about the places you’re mentioning.

Britain not involved in the Cold War? FFS!

Tell that to the teachers when I was a kid at school who taught drills in the event of a nuclear attack on Britain!

Or to the RAF personnel who operated the Scampton Airfield kept on alert 24 hours per day, where I sat in a Avro Vulcan V-Bomber.

Or the guys who showed us schoolkids around Fylingdales in Yorkshire where the Bloodhound ground to air missiles were armed and ready to go!

The only thing accurate about this video are the comments demonstrating the video makers complete lack of historical knowledge.

Stationary steam engines, as well as road engines, are not considered "trains"

Down voted for so many simple mistakes and this channel's staff being inept & lazy, incapable of conducting anything more than the worst attempt of research.
I wish I could report this channel for being clickbaiting shit.

The V bombers where designed to deliver nuclear payloads over the eastern bloc and Russia. They where not meant for defensive roles. Also I’d say Britain was involved in the Cold War.

not CiCiCiPi it's SSSR on Russian which you may know as USSR

It was the Vickers Valiant that suffered from fatigue cracks and had to be withdrawn. This was after the West had to change their attack profiles from high altitude to low level as a result of Gary Powers getting shot down by an SA2. Low down the turbulence is far greater than the Valiant was designed for. The Victor outlasted the Vulcan in RAF service and was thus the last of the three types of British nuclear "V" bomber in service. The Vulcan, serial no. XH558 that was the last to fly in 2015 was privately owned.

I can't believe the comment that UK wasn't directly involved in the Cold War! Seriously

Greneda belongs to the British Commonwealth. Something that seemed to by pass the Americans. This whole video is riddled with mistakes/lies. But then since when has the Americans let the truth get in the way of a good story ?? Just as they claimed credit for getting the Enigma machine when it was actually us Brits who captured it. I could go on, but the Yanks would not believe it.....

Not Involved?! My Family were based in Germany and my Dad kept disappearing on exercise. Was he just on holiday? Was JHQ Rheindahlen (the Big House where he worked) just Disney-Land holiday apartments. What would we do without American world history re-writes?

Ah, I see... fake news on a whole new level....fake history that we can use in our fake politics, in our fake future memories. Keep Calm and keep thinking fake.

. Bunkum! Incorrect information. The Victor was NOT the last V-bomber in service. The last Vulcan was retired in 2018.
